A foreigner, who has completed the maximum period established for temporary residence permits, may decide to request a permanent residence permit when permitted, submitting the documentation requested for the temporary residence extension. It shall not apply to those who have been granted the temporary residence under the categories of humanitarian or educational reasons and by special laws.
